Modelyk – Moderat feat. Lykke Li (Laz Arus Bootleg Mix)

I have heard somewhere in the range of 50 remixes or songs featuring Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers”.  I gotta say, it doesn’t get old.  The catchy chorus and Lykke Li’s adaptable vocals match well with almost any genre of music.  What do you think of this rendition?

Satin Jackets – You Make Me Feel Good (Original Mix)

The catchy beat of “You Make Me Feel Good” is a rebellion against anything dubstep; its smooth synth lines and driving, yet not overpowering beat proves that not all electronic music has to shake the floorboards at a Frat party.  The light, cheerful vibe of this song, along with its syncopated, catchy rhythms makes it simply impossible to dislike; combining a sounds to produce an almost New Age electronic sound. The German-based group has been manifesting a rather impressive following worldwide via the internet; saturating our eardrums with their distinctively jubilant beats, somber yet somehow not lugubrious synths, and titillating samples to create a one of a kind sound only described by Satin Jackets.

The Best of RAC

I would like to take a moment to talk about my favorite band of all time. I must add that I do not throw this superlative around very often, so when I say that RAC is my favorite band, I mean that quite literally. It is hard to choose what qualifies as “The Best of RAC”. I would include all of their songs, but that would defeat the purpose of this post. This post is meant to showcase not only the diversity of this “remix artist collective”, but also demonstrate the raw music talent of Andre, Andrew, and Liz. Now, many music scholars think that remixes  not only hurt the music industry, but also don’t take as much talent to produce than the original song. These music scholars are dead wrong. RAC has demonstrated how much artistic vision goes into creating one of their remixes, while still respecting the original artist and his creative rights. RAC is continuing to come out with new music, so I have a feeling we will be adding to this list for a long time coming. Enjoy!
